On December 15, 2018, the RUC North America Alumni Association (RUC-NAAA) and The Carter Center held a symposium in Atlanta, Georgia, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States.
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, who worked with Deng Xiaoping to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries, sent a special letter congratulating the organizers on the symposium and expressing his appreciation for RUC-NAAA.
