On May 26, the RUC North America Alumni Association (RUC-NAAA) and the RUC Fujian Alumni Associationheld a signing ceremony at the Renmin University Alumni Home at Zhengshan Hall in Fuzhou.
RUC-NAAA President Yafeng Wu and RUC Fujian Alumni Association Vice President Xinwen Huang signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the two organizations. Leaders from both alumni associations, along with distinguished RUC alumni based in Fuzhou, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony.
Founded in 2015, RUC-NAAA is headquartered in New York City, with an alumni network spanning major cities across the United States and Canada. Its mission is to provide alumni with a platform for connection and exchange, while creating more opportunities for cooperation and professional development among alumni around the world.
Founded in 1985, the RUC Fujian Alumni Association is guided by the mission of “Contributing to Fujian and bringing honor to our alma mater.” With a strong focus on the shared development of its alumni, the association has continued to grow and expand its network and has established a significant presence in the local community.
Leveraging RUC’s strengths in the humanities and social sciences together with the expertise and resources of RUC alumni in Fujian, the association has actively contributed to talent recruitment and development in Fujian, provided research and advisory support to relevant government departments, promoted university–provincial cooperation, and brought together alumni resources. These efforts have received recognition from RUC and relevant provincial leaders.
Areas of Cooperation
Under the agreement, the two alumni associations will:
Establish a standing cooperation mechanism, jointly develop cooperation plans, conduct exchanges on a regular or as-needed basis, and deepen their partnership;
Encourage alumni visits and exchanges, strengthen communication and interaction, and facilitate alumni visits between North America and Fujian;
Promote cooperation between North America and Fujian in areas including technological innovation, financial collaboration, and talent resource sharing;
Support investment and talent-attraction initiatives, including efforts to attract investment and talent from North America to Fujian, as well as investment and entrepreneurship by North American alumni in Fujian;
Provide support for alumni and their children in areas including education, employment, and daily life;
Strengthen professional collaboration among alumni, providing integrated professional services in areas such as legal and economic matters related to international business, helping alumni pursue opportunities both in China and abroad.
Representatives of both RUC-NAAA and the RUC Fujian Alumni Association expressed their commitment to working together to ensure the successful implementation of the agreement. They look forward to creating more platforms for alumni exchange and more opportunities for professional and business development through closer cooperation.
The signing marks a further deepening of the relationship between the two alumni associations. By sharing resources and leveraging their respective strengths, RUC-NAAA and the RUC Fujian Alumni Association aim to create new opportunities for alumni and jointly advance the development of the RUC alumni community.
