On March 5, 2025, the Third Board of the RUC North America Alumni Association held its third plenary meeting via video conference. Dawson Lee, Chair of the Board, presided over the meeting.
The meeting first heard a report on the Association’s 2024 work and 2025 work plan presented by Yafeng Wu, Vice Chair of the Board and President of the Association, on behalf of the Management Committee.
The Board recognized that throughout 2024, the management team remained committed to the principle of bringing alumni together and serving the alumni community. Guided by the “Four Priorities”—compliance, regular programming, professionalization, and diversification—the team took a strategic approach while focusing on practical implementation, seeking new opportunities while consolidating existing foundations, and pursuing development through innovation.
The management team worked to create a trusted “home” for alumni—a community where they could support one another, create opportunities for mutual success, and find warmth, connection, and a sense of belonging. Through efforts across multiple levels and fields, the Association opened a new chapter in its alumni work and achieved significant results, meeting the expectations of the Board and the broader alumni community.
The Board expressed strong support for the Management Committee’s 2025 work plan and pledged its full support for the management team. Building on the momentum of the 10th Anniversary, guided by the “Four Priorities,” and anchored by the Association’s “Five Pillars”—Spring Festival Celebration, Summer Gathering, Fall Newcomer Welcome, Mingde Forum, and Mentorship Program—the Association will seek to unlock its internal potential while bringing in resources from outside, focus on key priorities, and ensure effective implementation, with the goal of taking its work to a new level.
The meeting also reviewed and voted on several personnel appointments. All proposed motions were unanimously approved.
Legal Advisors
The Board approved the appointment of Richard Beck, attorney at Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg LLP, and Su Caixia, an RUC alumna, as legal advisors to the Association.
Appointments
Huang Beiqing was appointed to the Board and as Secretary-General of the Association, while continuing to serve as President of the New York Chapter.
Feng Zhuo was appointed Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Association.
Zhang Yong was appointed Director of the Publicity Department, while continuing to serve as Deputy Secretary-General of the Association and Secretary-General of the New York Chapter.
Geng Hui was appointed Vice President of the Montreal Chapter.
Zhang Xiaoyue was appointed Secretary-General of the Montreal Chapter.
Zhu Hongjie was appointed Special Coordinator of the Management Committee.
The meeting also discussed several other matters, including new formats for the 2025 Mingde Forum, visits by Board delegations to RUC alumni associations in different parts of North America, and providing full support for the alma mater’s Global Alumni Conference.
A total of 13 Board members and one alternate Board member attended the meeting. Two Board members were excused and authorized others to vote on their behalf. The meeting format, procedures, and attendance all complied with the requirements of the Charter of the RUC North America Alumni Association.
