On October 11, 2025, the Li Shanquan & Guo Fansheng Meet-and-Greet in Atlanta, jointly hosted by the RUC North America Alumni Association (RUC-NAAA), the Atlanta Chinese Entrepreneurs Club, and the Atlanta PFPA Financial Association, was successfully held in Atlanta, Georgia. The event brought together approximately 80 RUC alumni, local entrepreneurs, and professionals from the financial sector for an engaging exchange with two distinguished alumni. The event featured lively discussions, insightful perspectives, and a strong sense of connection among the attendees.

Both Li Shanquan and Guo Fansheng are members of RUC’s Class of 1978. After decades of dedication and hard work, each has achieved remarkable accomplishments in his respective field. Li Shanquan has spent more than three decades on Wall Street and developed his own “Dynamic Investment Analysis” methodology. With a long track record of strong fund performance, he has been widely recognized as the “Chinese God of Wealth on Wall Street.” Guo Fansheng was one of the early pioneers of China’s e-commerce industry. As the founder of a company that later went public, he played a role in the development of China’s e-commerce ecosystem. In recent years, he has focused on corporate governance and family-business management and has been recognized as a leading thinker in the field of Chinese family-business management.

Yue Jingsheng

The event was moderated by Yue Jingsheng, former Chairman of RUC-NAAA. Drawing on his own experiences from his years in the military, Yue opened the event with a story about “passing the torch,” setting the tone for an evening centered on carrying forward a shared spirit, building strength, and moving ahead with courage and determination. His warm and personal opening established an atmosphere of sincerity and connection that carried throughout the event.

Yang Dawei & Yang Yimin

Yang Dawei, Executive Director of the Atlanta Chinese Entrepreneurs Club, and Yang Yimin, President of the Atlanta PFPA Financial Association, delivered welcoming remarks on behalf of the co-hosting organizations. They extended a warm welcome to the two distinguished guests and noted that, although the two speakers have pursued different professional paths, both have found their own balance between ideals and reality, together with a strong sense of responsibility.

They also highlighted the event as a valuable opportunity for local entrepreneurs, financial professionals, and scholars to exchange ideas and share resources, while allowing the knowledge and influence of RUC alumni to continue taking root and flourishing in the American South.

Dawson Lee

As a longtime classmate and friend of both speakers, Dawson Lee, Chairman of RUC-NAAA, introduced the two keynote speakers with evident excitement and pride. He noted that the young students they once were had gone on to build distinctive careers in different fields, while sharing a common foundation shaped by RUC: a spirit of idealism combined with a commitment to practical action.

Li Shanquan and Guo Fansheng then took the stage for their respective presentations.

Li Shanquan traced his journey from his years as a student in China to his career on Wall Street. Drawing on decades of practical experience, he shared his insights into market cycles, risk management, and technological innovation, while exploring the logic behind market forecasting and the core principles of dynamic investment analysis. His presentation, delivered with both wit and insight, was met with enthusiastic applause.

Guo Fansheng approached the discussion from a broader macroeconomic perspective, using extensive data and comparative analysis to examine the evolution of China-U.S. trade relations. He argued that, after years of structural adjustment and technological upgrading, China has established a more stable and proactive position within global supply chains. He also shared his views on corporate governance, family-business succession, and the internationalization of Chinese companies.

During the interactive session, the two speakers engaged in an in-depth exchange with members of the audience. The discussion covered trends in global financial markets, the impact of artificial intelligence on investment models, internationalization strategies for Chinese companies, and the future of China-U.S. relations. The exchange of ideas brought the event to several lively moments, with enthusiastic applause throughout.

Wu Yafeng

In his closing remarks, Wu Yafeng, President of RUC-NAAA, expressed his appreciation to the two speakers for inspiring thoughtful discussion through their insights and experience, as well as to the RUC alumni and partner organizations in Atlanta for their strong support.

He noted that the event was not only a high-level exchange of ideas, but also a meaningful effort to promote people-to-people connections between China and the United States and to strengthen solidarity within the Chinese community in the United States.

It is also worth noting that Huicong Academy livestreamed the event through social media platforms, attracting hundreds of RUC alumni and followers of Guo Fansheng. Many viewers logged in as early as 5:00 a.m. Beijing time and followed the event from beginning to end, making it a truly cross-time-zone exchange of ideas.

The successful Li Shanquan & Guo Fansheng Meet-and-Greet in Atlanta showcased the strong sense of community and forward-looking spirit among RUC alumni. It also demonstrated how the spirit of continuous learning, innovation, and responsibility can be passed from one generation to the next.

The strong sense of connection among RUC alumni, together with the Atlanta Chapter’s strong organizational execution, left a lasting impression and received widespread appreciation from attendees.
